For quite some time, Nathan has been intrigued by the development of visual effects. He's loves making them too! This guy literally makes thousands of visual effects systems every year for all sorts of projects. From stylized and UI based to realistic or magical and everything in between. Oddly enough, very early on as a kid, Nathan started out highly interested in becoming a comic book artist. Like several aspiring artists, over a short period of time that interest developed into an incredible desire to become a 2D animator.

 

But then one glorious day (more like a series of glorious days), through higher education, all things involved in the production pipelines of VFX and Game Design development occupied his thoughts and time. A desire to create everything from concept art, 3d assets and texture maps to lighting, rendering and of course visual effects made him eager to learn more. He has grown a profound appreciation for most forms of artistic creation, but real-time and simulated visual effects has become his primary focus.

 

Nathan holds a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with a Major in VFX & 3D game art creation. His education is ongoing through Gnomon Visual Effects Workshops, Houdini Training, Udemy and many other training courses to help him stay ahead of industry trends. He can demonstrate expert familiarity with the latest and standard industry tools. Software tools such as Autodesk Maya, Photoshop, After Effects, 3ds Max, Unity, Unreal Engine 5, Houdini, Z-Brush, Substance Designer and many more are tools of the trade that He has been utilizing for more than 15 years. Nathan has extensive knowledge in the technology used in creating visual effects, a knowledge base that continues to evolve with expanding toolsets, software and visual effects pipelines.

 

Nathan is currently a Senior Visual Effects Artist within the gaming and entertainment industry. Without a doubt, designing visual effects systems and various 3d elements take up the majority of his professional time. Still, collaborating with expert teams, evaluating skillsets, training Jr. Artists, providing and receiving feedback are examples of the some of the things he takes pride in. Nathan has a growing deep fascination with the emergence of AI technology. By utilizing the latest suite Goggle's AI tools Veo 3 model, Flow, and Gemini as well as Adobe Firefly, Sora, Runway, Kling, Chat GPT and others the imagination has become boundless. Learning how to integrate these new tools with tried and true workflows with Houdini, Unreal Engine, Maya and many others has become a passionate pursuit.

Deconstructing every style of VFX from all genres & manipulating particles systems, fluid simulations and destruction dynamics pushes him to excel at being a profound team member and leader. There are countless visual effects avenues to explore and surmount, but Nathan's passionate pursuit of knowledge and wisdom in this regard is a reward within itself.
